Hello everyone!

I wanted to offer a space for us to share experiences with the online training system.
Feel free to use this space - or not. It's good either way.

I am anxious about this process [some GOOD anxious, some BAD anxious]. I had a personal experience with the PRAXIS III Assessor's Proficiency Test. . . .more on that later [maybe:-)]

A couple of pieces to start:
If you have a Pathwise or PRAXIS III background, you will be slammed back into the training process. When I am working on the page to label evidence as 'relevant' or 'not relavant' to the component; I'm reminded about how sneaky evidence can be; for instance, 'The teacher walks around encouraging students.' How many components will this fit? I miss it almost every time. It's hard to remember that it's not required to be EXACT with the juried score - but CLOSE.

I know my 'time spent' isn't what it's supposed to be - when my PRAXIS III filter trips me up - I go back and do it again and again and again. The goal for us - to agree with the scoring system so teachers everywhere will get the same feedback from performance.

When I scripted for the first video clip - in 15 min and 34 seconds I had about 115 pieces of evidence - when I went back to code - it was pared down to 97 - when I clicked the 'score' button - absolutely nothing happened -- I called the FBI and the CIA and finally tech support - at 1-888-479-7600.

Let me insert here that I had done the 'system check' and I had 2 X's - one for Operating system - it said I needed Windows 7 - I have that - one for browser - it said I had to have IE - 8 - - - -I have that also. So I proceeded with my first clip.

Tech Support was really nice - efficient. In the end I had to click 'Tools' in the browser bar - and make sure the pop-up blocker was turned OFF and the system was running IN compatibility mode. When I returned to the page - and clicked score - all my evidence was gone - - - -didn't know it this had been a problem for you.

How has FFTPS treated you?

PS - 92% of us have scored exactly as the system on 2C -Classroom Procedures - but only 69% of us were on-target for 2B - Culture for Learning. . .Later! Bg
